Microneedling near Wells

Microneedling (also known as dermal needling) is a skin treatment designed to support texture, tone and overall skin quality by creating controlled micro-channels in the skin. It is commonly planned as a course, spaced every 4 to 6 weeks, and can be tailored for full face or smaller areas such as around the eyes.

At je clinic you'll receive clear guidance on suitability, course planning and aftercare — so you know what to expect at each stage.

What microneedling can help with

Microneedling may be considered for concerns such as:

  • Uneven texture
  • Dullness
  • Fine lines
  • Post-acne texture (where suitable)
  • Enlarged pores

Your consultation will confirm whether microneedling is appropriate for your skin — and whether another option such as a growth factor facial, chemical peels or medical-grade skincare would suit you better.

Suitability

Microneedling isn't right for everyone. Your consultation will check suitability and help you decide whether it's the best option.

You may be advised to delay or avoid treatment if you have an active skin infection, active cold sores in the area, certain inflammatory skin conditions, or a history of problematic scarring. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you may be advised to wait.

Course planning

Microneedling is usually most effective as a course.

A common plan is one session every 4 to 6 weeks until the desired effect, then maintenance as required.

Before your appointment

You'll receive tailored pre-care, but as general guidance: avoid sunburn and avoid strong active products (such as retinoids and acids) for a short period before treatment. Arrive with clean skin if possible.

Combining with growth factor facial

Growth factor facial treatment can sometimes be combined with microneedling as part of a skin-quality plan.

We'll advise what is appropriate for your skin and goals. Learn more about growth factor facial.

Aftercare and downtime

Your skin may look pink or feel warm afterwards (similar to mild sunburn). You may also have dryness or light flaking as skin settles.

Aftercare guidance typically includes avoiding makeup for a short period, focusing on gentle skincare, and being diligent with SPF.

If you have any concerns after treatment, you can contact the clinic for advice.

Risks and side effects

Common side effects are temporary redness, sensitivity and dryness.

Less common risks can include infection, post-inflammatory pigmentation (particularly if aftercare is not followed), or prolonged irritation. These will be discussed during your consultation.
